In just 26 seconds, Lynch did the unthinkable at SummerSlam 2021. She returned after a long hiatus, issued a challenge to a hyped Belair, and ended the latter’s 133-day reign as SmackDown Women’s Champion. The EST of WWE described the loss as one of the lowest points of her career and had difficulty coping with it until John Cena came to assist her wavering morale.
During a recent appearance on the Out of Character podcast by Ryan Satin, Bianca Belair disclosed her interaction with John Cena after the shocking SummerSlam loss. Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, & Respect gave some words of wisdom to Belair, who believed that the 26-second loss would remain a stain on her career. The champion couldn’t understand whether it was for the storyline or was she just a bad wrestler until Cena cleared her perspective.
Bianca Belair had her revenge the next year. She defeated Becky Lynch at SummerSlam ’22 to retain her RAW Women’s Championship. Currently, The EST is scheduled to fight Asuka at WrestleMania 39.
