Leo Messi: Lionel Messi will most certainly leave PSG at the end of the season. There is a huge chance of him returning to Barcelona. However, Barcelona’s financial situation has become an issue in the process of this transfer. They have presented La Liga with viability plans to bring the player which were rejected. However, as per reports, Barcelona President Joan Laporta is close to ‘total agreement’ with Messi to make his return possible. Follow La Liga LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.

As per Jota Jordi, a famous media personality at Barcelona has recently reported that Barcelona’s President Joan Laporta has come close to agreements with Leo Messi. He features on a regular basis on the Spanish football debate show ‘El chiringuito de Jugones’. He used this platform to say “If Messi wants, he will play for Barca.” He also revealed that Laporta met with Messi’s father and agent Jorge Messi and talked to Messi over the phone. He reported that both parties are close to agreement on terms.

Lionel Messi’s contract with PSG ends on June 30. He has not extended his contract with them and is most likely to leave the club. There have been several rumours about his transfer. He could be moving to Inter Miami which is co-owned by David Beckham who recently visited PSG and met with Messi and co. He could be moving to the Saudi club Al-Hilal who are offering him £400 million. However, Barcelona have pushed the most to bring back their star player to Camp Nou.

Barcelona also have the worst situation to be able to bring back Leo Messi. Due to their horrendous financial situation, La Liga told Barcelona that they will need to cut down £180 million from their wage bill to bring Messi. Reportedly, Barcelona have presented La Liga with viability plans, but La Liga rejected them. As of now, there have been no news that La Liga gave Barcelona the green signal to present Lionel Messi with a feasible contract.

In fact, there have been no indications that Barcelona presented Leo Messi with a contract yet. They could be waiting for La Liga to approve first. However, Joan Laporta recently told Gerard Romero’s Jijantes FC that he “will do everything” to bring Messi home. During an interview with the Spanish broadcaster TV3, when he was asked if Barcelona can compete with Al-Hilal’s ridiculous offer to Messi, he said, “With all due respect to Saudi Arabia, Barca is Barca, and it is home.”

He also confirmed during that interview that La Liga is yet to approve their viability plans. He said “The club is following an austerity plan, but we are working hard to build a competitive team for next season. We will see if La Liga approve our viability plan.” Hence, he will probably wait for that and also wait for PSG’s season end to take any serious step. He said, “He is a PSG player and we have to wait until the end of the season, until it is over, and then we can talk more calmly about this.”
