Jaffna Kings Innings: Sent to bat, Jaffna Kings did not have a good start. Naseem Shah struck early to dismiss Rahmanullah Gurbaz while Nishan Madhushka also departed inside the powerplay. Down 66/3 in 8.4 overs, Towhid Hridoy and Priyamal Perera took charge. The two added 41 runs off 27 balls to take the attack to Colombo. While Perera fell to Matheesha Pathirana, Hridoy slammed a brilliant 54 off 39 balls. Jaffna scored 102 runs in the last 10 overs to post 173/5. Mohammad Nawaz bowled an economical spell for 2/24 in his 4 overs.
Colombo Strikers Innings: Chasing a good total, Colombo were off to a good start with Niroshan Dickwella taking the charge. But it did not last long as Thisara Perera cleaned up Babar Azam. Then on, Colombo Strikers lost wicket at a regular interval. The only player to shine was Dickwella who kept the heat up on Jaffna with a 34-ball 58. But as Dilshan Madushanka dismissed the Colombo captain, it was only a matter of time. Hardus Viljoen bagged three wickets for 31 runs while player of the match Vijayakanth Viyaskanth was excellent with 2/17. Colombo were bowled out for 152.
