Needless to say, the recent hate raid incident against Twitch streamer Pokimane took the Internet by storm. The accused in this case, fellow streamer JiDion faced a ban of 14 days, which was later upgraded to a permanent ban. Following the permaban he appealed to his fans for support to free him from this harsh punishment. JiDion launched a hate raid on 12th January, whereby he directed his community to spam on Pokimane’s Twitch stream. The online troll continued to the extent of forcing Poki to shut her stream midway. This led to the violation of Twitch’s guidelines prompting a 14 day suspension of JiDion on the platform.
Many streamers including xQc, Mizkif, Myth and others came in to support Pokimane and condemned the hatred and misogyny that was played out. JiDion took responsibility for the situation and eventually accepted that his hate against Pokimane has nothing to do with her gender and he believes in respecting women.

In a video he talks about his ban and urges fans to help him out. “I’m not here to talk about why I got banned because I deserved to get banned,” he said. “It is what it is. I broke the terms of service. But what I am here to talk about is that I’m here to ask Twitch to make it fair.”

He continued, “I feel Twitch should keep my 14-day suspension, especially for a first-time offense, and not let outside factors determine (the ban). What I did was wrong. But how am I supposed to do better the next time if I never get a next time?”
