Jasprit Bumrah: ODI World Cup 2023 – Will Jasprit Bumrah be fit for the ODI World Cup 2023 is one question all Indian cricket fans want to know. Last featured in September 2022, Bumrah underwent back surgery and is currently rehabilitating at National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. Ravichandran Ashwin provided a major update on the star India pacer’s availability for the ODI World Cup.
Ashwin said in all probability, Bumrah will be fit for the showpiece. “The last few games between India and Pakistan in the ICC events have been extraordinary, to say the least. I think we can expect another blockbuster India-Pakistan game,” Ashwin said on his YouTube Channel.
It’s going to be a very equally-balanced game because Pakistan have a quality seam attack. For India, obviously, we are expecting Bumrah, maybe even Prasidh. All these guys to be fit.

Jasprit Bumrah: Bumrah bowling seven overs a day at NCA, likely to be fit for Ireland series
Currently, Bumrah is bowling seven overs a day at NCA. According to sources, the fast bowler’s workload will be increased slowly. Also, there will be a close assessment of his fitness before a call on his participation in Ireland series will be taken.
“For an injury of this nature, it is not wise to set any timeline as constant monitoring is necessary. But it can be said that Bumrah is recovering well, and he has bowled seven overs at NCA nets. It is a steady increase in his workload from the light workouts and bowling sessions of the initial period. He will play a few practice matches (at NCA) next month, and there will be a close assessment of his fitness then,” a source tracking the development told PTI.
BCCI are planning to bring Bumrah for the Ireland series, but nothing is confirmed. As far as Prasidh Krishna is concerned, the Karnataka pacer is recovering from a stress fracture. The lanky pacer last featured during the tour of Zimbabwe in August 2022.
Since then, Prasidh has missed Asia Cup, New Zealand Tour, the Bangladesh tour, ODI series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, and IPL 2023 season. The RR pacer is currently rehabilitating at NCA.
