Jaipur New Stadium: World’s 3rd and India’s 2nd largest cricket stadium after the Narendra Modi Stadium is going to be built in Jaipur. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) and Hindustan Zinc (HZL) in an event at the RCA Academy on Thursday. In 2022, at the Invest Rajasthan Summit organized by the Rajasthan Government, Anil Agarwal, Chairman of Vedanta Group, had announced their cooperation in building the International Cricket Stadium that was being constructed by RCA. RCA and HZL at the event on Rajasthan Day for Jaipur New Stadium

The signing ceremony was organized on Rajasthan Day at the RCA Academy. CP Joshi, speaker of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly and chief patron of RCA, Vaibhav Gehlot, RCA president, Arun Mishra, CEO, HZL and Ritu Jhingon, director group communication of Vedanta Limited, were present for the ceremony.

As per the decision taken by RCA, the name of the stadium will be “Anil Agarwal International Cricket Stadium, Jaipur”.

The Rajasthan Government has allotted 100 acres of land in the village of Choup, Delhi Road, Jaipur. The construction has already begun and the capacity of this new stadium will be 75,000.

The mega stadium will be built in two phases and the first phase of the project is already under construction. The stadium which has a capacity of 75,000 is to be constructed at a cost of Rs 400 crore. The total cost is to be distributed between HZL and RCA with, HZL paying Rs 300 crore and the remaining Rs 100 crore by RCA.

The facility will have 11 cricket pitches, 2 practice grounds, 1 cricket academy, a hostel, parking facility, a sports club, a hotel and a gym.

Once the first phase of the project is completed, the second phase of the mega project will start next year.
