In a major U-turn, Jadon Sancho has deleted his social media post where he claimed he was being made the scapegoat in the Manchester United dressing room.
Sancho came out all guns blazing after he was dropped by Erik Ten Hag for the Arsenal game at the Emirates due to ‘performances in training’.
The former Ajax coach was asked about Sancho’s absence after the match. “We did not select Jadon because of his performances in training. You have to reach a certain level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game he was not selected.”
These statements infuriated Sancho, who contradicted the Dutch manager’s statement on social media.

In his statement, Jadon Sancho said, ‘I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair.’
He continued, ‘All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team. I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what.‘
The post garnered a lot of attention on social media, with many outlets claiming Sancho has hammered the final nail in the coffin. There were rumours of Sancho leaving the club in January as United were reportedly eyeing replacements.
But Sancho deleting his social media post might be the first step towards reconciliation between him and the Manchester United manager.
