“To be honest seven runs was never ever a big deal for me. The left-hand spinner was bowling and there were five fielders inside the circle. Even if 10 fielders were inside, I knew I had to hit.
So I was not bothered but when you got out, I felt a bit of pressure. I knew the bowler was even more pressurized in bowling the last over. I knew what the bowler was up to and I was very calm in that pressure cooker situation,” Pandya said.

Asia Cup 2022: Hardik Pandya once again recues India a superlative performance
- Things change rapidly and for Pandya the saying is true. From being stretched off in a stretcher in Asia Cup in 2018, the 28-year-old has now become the biggest asset for the team.
- Since making his comeback into the Indian team in 2022, the all-rounder has not looked back.
- Hardik has scalped 11 wickets and scored 314 runs in 14 matches in 2022.
- He is continuously clocking 140 plus and finishing games for India with the bat in hand.
- The all-rounder provides a solid balance to the team and has become one of the bankable players in the shortest format of the game.
Jadeja shines in the number four role against Pakistan
- Although Pandya was the hero of the match, Jadeja’s effort with the bat was phenomenal.
- Walking in at number four ahead of Suryakumar Yadav, the southpaw started attacking from word go.
- He mixed caution with aggression and scored a brisk 35 off 29 balls. He cashed in on the opportunity to bat higher in the order.
- He also kept things tight with the ball in hand and gave only 11 runs in two overs.
- With he being the only left-hand option in the top seven, Jadeja truly shined and yet again demonstrated his all-around prowess.
