The Polish World No.1 started dominating the match right from the word go as she broke Jabeur in the very second game of the first set. There were moments when Jabeur managed to make inroads in the contest, but her attempts were thwarted by Swiatek as she gained full control of the match.
After breaking Jabeur in her first service game, Swiatek continued to take hold of the proceedings as she broke her for the second time in the set to take an easy 6-2 victory. In the second set too Swiatek broke Jabeur early and was cruising with a 4-1 lead. However, Jabeur managed to clinch a break of serve in the match at 4-1 in the second set to trail 2-4. Swiatek held serve in the next game and then broke Jabeur for the final time in the match to successfully defend her Rome title.
