Mohun Bagan vs Bengaluru FC: Bengaluru FC will face an uphill task when they take on Mohun Bagan Super Giant in an entertaining clash in the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) fixture. Following an unfortunate 2-1 defeat at the hands of Kerala Blasters in their opening game of the ISL, Blues head coach Simon Grayson is keen to etch out a result but has warned caution against the Mariners.
“Last year we won the first game, so it is a bit different in that respect. I think it’s very early in terms of analysing our performances. It was a tough game in Kerala which it always is, for a lot of teams. But also, the rivalry between us adds to that,” said Simon Grayson at the Press Conference.
Giving credit to their opponents, the Blues coach claimed that the defending champions have got the strongest squad in the league and it will be a very tough game for Bengaluru FC. “After every game, we analyse what we need to do better in possession and out of possession. Tomorrow night is going to be a really tough game for us. Mohun Bagan have probably got the strongest squad in the league.”

One of the biggest misses for Bengaluru FC will be the absence of Sunil Chhetri. The skipper is currently in China representing the nation in the ongoing Asian Games. But coach Grayson has claimed that his side is not over-dependent on Cheetri. He pointed out that the Blues last season played quite a few games without their skipper but have managed to play well.
“Yes, Sunil is with the national team. But don’t forget that last year we went 10 or 11 games without Sunil in the team. We are not just a one-man team. He’s a very good player, national hero but the team last year stepped up and performed very well. And that has to be the same for tomorrow as well,” he added.

That’s my motivation, and it somehow comes automatically to me.”
