The Nigerian has been a sensational figure in Indian football in recent times. He holds the distinct record of being the top goalscorer of three different ISL clubs: NorthEast United, Kerala Blasters and Hyderabad FC. He also won the double with Mumbai City FC last season and was a very important figure in Sergio Lobera’s system despite playing second fiddle to Spanish striker Adam Le Fondre.
The veteran was roped in the NorthEast United FC ahead of the ISL 2018-19 and had an immediate effect as he guided his new employers to their first ever top-four finish in the league, having finished as the top-scorer for the Highlanders, with 12 goals. he was scouted by then NorthEast United head coach Eelco Scattorie.
Ogbeche jumped ship to join Kerala Blasters as he followed Eelco Schattorie who also joined the Yellow Army ahead of the 2019-20 season. The former PSG man ended that season as the joint-top scorer in the league with 15 goals. he added eight goals to his tally in the following season for the Islanders and won the ISL double with them. He joined Hyderabad FC this season as Manolo Marquez convinced him about the project that he wants to build. He has already scored 14 goals this season in 13 matches and is ready to add more goals to that tally taking the Nizams to great heights.
Ogbeche started his career as a youngster for French heavyweights Paris Saint Germain in the Ligue 1, having scored during the 2001-02 season. His career took off from there on, following which he played for clubs like Al-Jazira in the UAE Football League, Spanish side Real Valladolid in the La Liga and for SC Cambuur and Willem II in the Eredivisie.
