The Red & Golds have enhanced their squad this time around with the signings of top tried and tested foreigners like Ivan Gonzalez, Cleiton Silva, and Alex Lima along with the likes of players like Jordan O’Doherty, and Charalampos Kyriakou.
Mobashir Rahman, Aniket Jadhav, VP Suhair, and Lalchungnunga are among the promising domestic prospects signed by the new management. East Bengal has indicated their intent to recover from the disasters of the previous two seasons in India’s top flight with these additions and the game against Mumbai City FC was a prime example of it where the team defeated the Islanders 5-4 and showed a lot of character on the field.
East Bengal seemed to have had a better start than that of last season with the players getting a proper pre-season including a tournament. This allowed the players to build in team coordination and communication which heavily lacked in the performances of the last season.
