Is Ronda Rousey Coming Back To UFC 300? Dana White Reveals

Rousey hasn't fought. Before losing to Amanda Nunes in a 48-second TKO at UFC 207 in December 2016, she had been stripped of the UFC Women's Bantamweight Title

After finishing her current stint with WWE, there have been rumours that Ronda Rousey may be considering a return to the UFC.

As soon as UFC competitor Chelsea Chandler recently informed MMA Junkie that she had heard Rousey was making a comeback as a featherweight, rumours began to circulate. Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting denied it at the time of the interview.

Ronda Rousey Coming Back To UFC 300

After suffering back-to-back defeats, Rousey hasn’t fought. Before losing to Amanda Nunes in a 48-second TKO at UFC 207 in December 2016, she had been stripped of the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title by Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November 2015.

In an MMA Rules match at the WWE SummerSlam premium live event from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, Rousey was defeated by Shayna Baszler. Rousey declared she had no reason to continue wrestling after the match.

The rumour and conjecture that Rousey, 36, may return to the Octagon for one more bout has grown as UFC 300 is scheduled to take place next spring and she has just completed off her present duties with WWE.

That won’t happen, according to Dana White, president of the UFC.

“There’s no shot,” asserts White. She has succeeded in doing what she set out to do.

Since losing to Amanda Nunes in December 2016, Rousey hasn’t competed in the UFC. Although she would have plenty of opponents waiting in queue to face her at UFC 300, White said she is happy with the legacy she has built.

In Dana’s words:

“There’s no shot. She’s accomplished everything she set out to do. Her dream was to win a UFC championship, then win a WWE championship, and she’s done it,” says White. “Now she’s starting a family. Ronda has made so much money, and she’s still making a lot of money in sponsorships.”

After UFC 292 in Boston at the TD Garden, which featured a thrilling finish with Sean O’Malley startling bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling with a TKO victory, White spoke with fans one-on-one.
