Rahul Dravid as Head coach? The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited applications for the post of National Cricket Academy (NCA) cricket head. The post is currently held by former India skipper Rahul Dravid. While the fresh invitation means Dravid will have to reapply for the NCA job, it could also mean that BCCI is clearing the way for Dravid to take over as head coach of India replacing Ravi Shastri whose tenure ends after the T20 World Cup.

Rahul Dravid was appointed as the NCA head on July 8, 2019 and the selected candidate will get another two-year contract. With Dravid at the helm, there was no need for a fresh invitation but it could be about Dravid taking on a bigger role. Sources told Sportstar that if Dravid wants to rejoin, he will have to reapply for the post.
