“The Governing Council of the IPL invites bids from reputed entities to acquire the Media Rights for the Indian Premier League Seasons 2023-2027, through a tender process,” the BCCI said in a statement.

IPL Media Rights Tender – According to information available with InsideSport, the tender has 4-5 Packages of RIGHTS. The BCCI expects more than Rs 16,000 Crore for Media rights for IPL 2023-27 duration. For the 2018-22 period, BCCI bagged a whopping 16,000 crore for media rights from Star India.

  • IPL Global Rights Television – Package A
  • IPL Digital Rights – GLOBAL – Package B
  • Rest of World Rights (Broadcast / Digital both) – Package C
  • Television Rights Sub-Continent – Package D
  • Digital Rights Sub-Continent – Package E

“The detailed terms and conditions governing the tender process including eligibility requirements, process for submissions of bids, proposed media rights packages, and obligations, etc. are contained in the ‘Invitation to Tender’ (ITT) which will be made available on receipt of payment of a non-refundable fee of INR 25,00,000 (Rupees Twenty-Five Lakhs Only) plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax. The procedure to procure the ITT documents is enlisted in Annexure A to this document. The ITT will be available for purchase till May 10, 2022,” the BCCI added in the statement.

Any interested party wishing to submit a bid is required to purchase the ITT. However, only those satisfying the eligibility criteria set out in the ITT and subject to the other terms and conditions set out therein, shall be eligible to bid. It is clarified that merely purchasing this ITT does not entitle any person to bid.

IPL Media Rights Tender – IPL Rights E-Auction: The tender process as per the BCCI will be completed in 45-60 Days period. For now June 12 is the tentative date to conduct the E-Auction.

As reported earlier, the BCCI has decided to conduct an e-auction for the IPL Media Rights.

The key development though is that as per an internal valuation, BCCI feels that the IPL Digital Rights value this time will match IPL Broadcast Rights values
