IPL 2023: SRH vs KKR: The match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders saw some neck-to-neck competition between bat and bowl. One such match-up happened between KKR all-rounder Andre Russell and SRH batter Rahul Tripathi. Tripathi took on Andre Russell and smashed 15 runs off two balls. However, Russell had the last laugh as he got rid of the dangerous-looking batter on the fourth delivery of the over and celebrated his wicket with an epic send-off. Russell, who had just leaked 15 runs off two balls, outfoxed Rahul Tripathi with a slower delivery. The West Indies all-rounder was asked to bowl the last over of the Powerplay, which started with an overstepping delivery that Tripathi smashed for four runs. The following two balls went for six and four.

However, Russell came back in style, bowling a fullish-length slower delivery. Tripathi, who had tried to scoop it after shuffling across the stumps, failed to time it and holed out to Vaibhav Arora at deep fine leg. Russell was pumped up to see his ploy work and roared while throwing his arms in the air to celebrate Tripathi’s wicket.

The Kolkata Knight Riders eventually won the game by five runs, thanks to Varun Chakravarthy’s brilliant final over where he defended 9 runs.

The match had started with Kolkata Knight Riders posting a total of 171/9 in 20 overs. Nitish Rana played a crucial knock of 42 off 31 balls, while Rinku Singh contributed with a well-crafted 46. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Aiden Markram (41) and Heinrich Klaasen (36) had taken the hosts to a good position, but they kept losing wickets and fell short in the run chase.
