IPL 2023: Virat Kohli vs Sachin Tendulkar: IND vs NZ – With four centuries in just 22 innings, Virat Kohli is back with a bang. The right-hand batter’s 46th ODI century against Sri Lanka has started the debate on social media about when Kohli will break Tendulkar’s 49 ODI centuries record. Sunil Gavaskar has made a big prediction for the same and believes the chase master will break Tendulkar’s most ODI centuries record before IPL. India will play New Zealand in a three-match ODI series starting from January 18 and then play three ODIs against Australia. With the current form and mood Kohli is in, he could very well score four centuries and go past Tendulkar’s record. Follow IPL 2023 Live Updates with InsideSport.IN.

“The form that he is in, the way that he is playing right now…now we have three matches against New Zealand and three more against Australia. So we have six ODIs before IPL. And all he needs is his three centuries. The way he is batting right now, why shouldn’t we feel that those three hundreds happen before the IPL,” he said.

IND vs NZ: Virat Kohli back with a bang, eyeing Tendulkar’s big record – After a lull period where Kohli could not manage to score a century for over 1000 days, the right-hand batter now has scored four centuries within a span of 22 matches. Three have come in the ODI format, a format Kohli loves to play.

In the recently concluded Sri Lanka series, the right-hand batter was the leading run-scorer amassing 283 runs in three games. The former India captain though says he is not desperate for milestone and is very contended with what he has achieved.

“Ever since I came back from the break, I am feeling good and I don’t have any desperation anymore to get to a milestone,”

I want to continue being in this space where I am relaxed and content with how I am playing, and that for me is the most important thing. Today I was happy to be batting out there, and in that space, I ended up playing my best cricket.

IPL 2O23: Why Gavaskar believes Kohli will break Tendulkar’s most ODI centuries record before IPL?

· Kohli is looking in ominous form and is enjoying his batting like he was doing in 2016.

· There is a sense of authority and free spirit in Kohli, as he is batting with a lot more freedom.

· With three centuries in ODIs, Gavaskar feels Kohli is in the zone and can break Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI centuries.

· With Kohli feeling rejuvenated from the break, breaking Tendulkar’s ODI centuries record seems mere formality for Kohli.
