IPL 2023 Start DATE – IPL 2023 Schedule: Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL2023) Auction is over now and BCCI has informed franchises on tentative dates for IPL 2023. The Season 16 of IPL will start on April 1st. According to BCCI’s comminique to the IPL teams, ‘the 16th season of the LEAGUE tentatively will start from 1st April instead of conventional start in March’. Reason, inaugural Women’s IPL. The BCCI in a written communication has informed the franchises that IPL Season 16 start date will be 1st April. The inaugural season of Women’s IPL will start on March 3rd.

The WIPL 2023 will be a 23 day affair. The FINAL of WIPL will be played on 26th March. This is the reason IPL Season 16 will begin with delay on 1st April.

IPL 2023 is anticipated to start on April 1 and the inaugural Women’s IPL season is anticipated to run from March 3 to 26. Both competitions will take place in India.

The WIPL will begin a week after the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup final, which is planned to take place on February 26 in Cape Town.

BCCI has already released the Media Rights Tender for Women IPL the next on the agenda for BCCI is the release of Invitation to Tender for WIPL franchises.

Instead of city-based teams, the BCCI is looking for zonal-based teams. Each team will represent a particular zone.

Apex Indian cricketing body is looking at teams from Dharamshala/Jammu (North), Pune/Rajkot (West), Indore/Nagpur/Raipur (Central), Ranchi/Cuttack (East), Kochi/Visakhapatnam (South) and Guwahati (North-East).

Where WIPL 2023 will be held?

The BCCI is planning to holding the Women’s Indian Premier League (WIPL) in Mumbai completely in its Year 1. The decision has not been formal as yet.

BCCI & the women cricketers in India is up for HUGE-WINDFALL in NEW-YEAR. According to a top BCCI official, ‘the upcoming Women IPL League can generate 1000 Crore plus at Auction for each franchise’. The board official also confirmed to InsideSport that PLAYER salary purse for Women players can be in a range of 40 Crore for each franchise. This means like counterparts, WIPL will make Women Cricketers Millionaires next year.

“It’s a new product but established concept. Just see the response we are getting for INDIA vs Australia series. This clearly shows Women Cricket has huge growth potential. We are sure each franchsie can fetch 1000 Crore plus. Players will be suitably paid and each franchise can have a player purse of 35-40 Crore”, confirmed top BCCI official to InsideSport.

  • BCCI expect to fetch 1000 Cr plus revenue from each franchise
  • 400 Crore can be the BASE-PRICE for CLOSED BID
  • Player PURSE for each team in range of 35-40 CRORE
