Ten Doeschate will take up the role of a fielding coach with the two-time champions. He will take over the role from James Foster who has been promoted as the assistant coach for the franchise. The South Africa-born former cricketer will be closely working and reporting to KKR’s new head coach Chandrakant Pandit. Pandit was pivotal in his coaching role and took Madhya Pradesh to Ranji Trophy triumph for the first-time in 23 years. The newly knitted coaching group will look to break the franchise’s IPL title drought since 2014.

Moreover, the former Netherlands captain could also be involved as an assistant coach for the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders side. He was a part of the Kolkata franchise from 2011-2015. During this time, the power-hitter played the role of a finisher with his quick fire knocks apart from being a gun fielder.

Has Ryan ten Doeschate served in coaching role earlier?
Ten Doeschate, once a hope for the Netherlands, hung up his boots in 2021. He was one of the most prolific batters to feature for the Netherlands as he amassed 1541 runs in 33 matches in the ODIs and 533 runs from 24 games in the shortest format.
Following his retirement, he was appointed as Kent County Cricket Club’s batting coach in 2021 in English County Cricket. He was a part of KKR’s title winning squads in 2012 and 2014.
