The prize money has increased fourfold since its beginning, although the Board of Control for Cricket in India intends to make significant increases in the prize money in the upcoming seasons; the exact amount is yet to be determined. The prize money for teams has been set at Rs 46.5 crore, with Rs 20 crore going to the winning team and Rs 13 crore to the runner-up. The third-place team earns Rs 7 crore, with the fourth-place team taking home Rs 6.5 crore.
The individual prize amounts have increased throughout time to make the league more alluring, and this has been maintained for the past few of seasons. The Orange Cap, which goes to the batsman scoring the most runs, comes with a cash prize of Rs. 15 lakh, while the Purple Cap, which goes to the bowler taking the most wickets, also comes with the equal prize money.
A cash prize of Rs 20 lakh is awarded to the tournament’s Emerging Player, while Rs 12 lakh is awarded to the season’s Most Valuable Player. The cash prizes for the other awards—Power Player of the Season, Super Striker of the Season, and Game Changer of the Season—are Rs. 15 lakh and Rs. 12 lakh, respectively. In this competition, there are six add-on prizes for each league game in addition to the player of the match, each carrying a monetary prize of Rs 1 lakh.
