IPL 2023: PCB chairman Najam Sethi makes Stunning claim, says PSL Digital rating better than Indian Premier League: Check Out
Comparing the domestic T20 leagues, Sethi claimed that the PSL outperformed IPL in terms of digital ratings. He claimed that while IPL attracted only 130 million viewers on digital platforms, the PSL garnered 20 million more eyeballs. “Let’s talk about digital. PSL was only at the half stage, so I asked about our digital rating.
Najam Sethi show used to have a 0.5 rating on TV, whereas PSL is getting a rating of more than 11. So, it would be 18 or 20, when it completes,” Sethi told the reporters ahead of the PSL 2023 final. “Over 150 million people watched it digitally. It is not a small thing. At the same stage, IPL’s digital rating was 130 million and PSL’s is more than 150 million. So this is a great success for Pakistan”, he added.

Instead of backing his statement with concrete data, the PCB top office bearer’s claims were based on figures someone told him during an informal conversation.
India has over seven times more population than Pakistan. In fact, the two neighbouring Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have a higher population than the whole of Pakistan. Had the PCB boss thought logically, he could’ve avoided making a fool of himself. Meanwhile, the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League will kick-start on March 31. The defending champions Gujarat Titans will take on the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
