Sikandar Raza, World No 6 in T20 & ODI All-rounder rankings had a breakout year in 2022. He was voted ICC Men’s Player of the Month for August. He scored 645 runs at an average of 49.61 in 15 ODIs for Zimbabwe. He also slammed three centuries including one against India. In 23 T20s, Raza notched up 735 runs at an incredible strike rate of 150.92 and scored five half-centuries.

With the ball, he also changed matches single-handedly. In the T20 World Cup, his 3/25 against Pakistan helped Zimbabwe win their match in a dramatic fashion. In all, he scalped 25 wickets in 23 games including 4/8 as his best figure. In ODIs, he bowled tight overs, scalping 8 wickets.

Sikandar Raza was an integral figure for Zimbabwe in T20Is throughout the year. Not just in T20 WC qualifying, he is one of two expert spinners on the side. Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka took more wickets than anybody in the Men’s T20WC, and another star of the tournament completes the lineup – the Player of the Match in the Final, and the Player of the Tournament, England’s Sam Curran.
