IPL 2023 Groups: IPL 2023 Schedule – The IPL 2023 Schedule has been released and the cricketing extravaganza starts with a mega clash. Gujarat Giants take on Chennai Super Kings in the opening game of the tournament which is all set to take place on 31st March. Much like last year, the 10 teams are divided into 2 groups, i.e Group A and Group B. Each team will play a total of 14 games. Among these, 7 will be home, and the rest 7 away fixtures. A team will 10 games against the teams of the other group (5 teams x 2). The rest 4 games will be played with the remaining 4 teams of the same group.

Here is how the format will pan out. For example, Mumbai Indians will play 10 games against the 5 teams of Group B, i.e Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans. As for the remaining 4 games, Mumbai will play one game against Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants.

  • The 10 teams are divided into 2 groups.
  • Each team will play a total of 14 games. 7 home and 7 away fixtures.
  • Each team will face the 5 others teams from the opposite group in home and away fixtures.
  • Each team will face the four remaining teams of the same group in a single fixture.

Defending champions Gujarat Titans will host Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in the opening fixture of IPL 2023. The 16th edition of the tournament starts on March 31st and the last league match will be played on May 21. However, BCC hasn’t revealed the dates for IPL 2023 Playoffs. A total of 70 league matches will be played including 18 double headers. Each team will play 7 home and 7 away games each.

A total of 70 league stage matches will be played across 12 venues over the course of 52 days. 1st April, 2023 will be the first double-header day of the season, where Punjab Kings will square off against Kolkata Knight Riders in Mohali and Lucknow Super Giants will take on Delhi Capitals in Lucknow. The IPL 2023 Final will be played on May 28. BCCI are yet to confirm the venue for the playoffs.
