IPL 2023: Deepak Chahar Injury – India pacer Deepak Chahar has begun training with the aim to make a competitive return in IPL. Chahar is struggling with a nagging hamstring injury that has already cost him a year of cricket. While he did return for the Bangladesh tour, he was ruled out midway following a recurrence of his injury. He was sent back to the NCA. Chahar once again recovered and played a Ranji Trophy match for Rajasthan last month. The Chennai Super Kings star did bowl 21 overs and is on a break currently.

With no competitive matches, Chahar is eying an IPL return next month. CSK’s 14Cr pick Chahar missed the entire IPL 2022 with a hamstring injury.

IPL Comeback Stage – With selectors ignoring him from the 20-man shortlist for the ODI World Cup in October-November, Deepak Chahar will now target IPL as a stage to launch a comeback bid. Even in the limited time he was with the team, he mesmerised with his swinging deliveries before the injury cut his comeback short.

As he will lead CSK’s pace attack under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, it will give him the perfect opportunity ahead of the Ireland and West Indies tours. CSK’s pre-IPL training camp will begin early March in Chennai.
