The newbies who are high on adrenaline and hope going into their 2nd IPL season assembled at Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday (February 5). It was a low-key affair as the BIG stars from the Titans squad were obviously missing. The likes of Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, Mohammad Shami, and other overseas cricketers were on the absent list. But one thing that caught everyone’s attention in the training session was coach Ashish Nehra’s special class with Rahul Tewatia. The Titans posted pictures of the players working out at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on their social media pages.
Players like Rahul Tewatia, Abhinav Manohar, Sai Sudarshan, Vijay Shankar, Mohit Sharma, and a few other individuals could be seen performing routine drills in the photos. The campers recently competed for their respective state teams in the Ranji Trophy.
Prior to the IPL 2023 auction, the franchisee kept all of the aforementioned names on the roster with the exception of Mohit Sharma. In the IPL 2022 season, young players Abhinav Manohar and Sai Sudarshan did well given the opportunities that were given to them. Sudarshan scored 145 runs in 5 matches while Manohar scored 108 runs from 8 games.

Coach Ashish Nehra was seen giving some valuable advice to ‘Sixer Prince’ Rahul Tewatia in one of the posts shared by the IPL franchise.

Speaking of the Gujarat Titans’ IPL 2023 roster, the defending champions have strengthened their already potent group of players by making some smart acquisitions.
After the IPL 2023 auction was over, the Titans acquired Kane Williamson, the captain of New Zealand, for Rs 2 crore, Odean Smith, an all-rounder from the West Indies, for Rs 50 lakh, KS Bharat, for Rs 1.2 crore, Shivam Mavi, for Rs 6 crore, and uncapped Urvil Patel at his base price of Rs 20 lakh.
Joshua Little, an Irish left-arm pacer, was purchased for Rs 4.4 crore by the Ahmedabad-based franchise, and veteran medium-pacer Mohit Sharma was purchased for Rs 50 lakh.
