IPL 2023: Gujarat Titans Practice: The IPL 2023 season is still a couple of months away but Gujarat Titans have already begun their preparations for the new season.  Some of the players from the squad were captured sweating it out at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In the pictures, the likes of Abhinav Manohar, Sai Sudarshan, Vijay Shankar, Mohit Sharma and few other players were seen doing the regular drills. The players attending the camp recently featured in the Ranji Trophy for their respective state team.

All the above mentioned names except for Mohit Sharma were retained by the franchisee ahead of the IPL 2023 auction.  Youngsters Abhinav Manohar and  Sai Sudarshan had a decent IPL 2022 season with the amount of chances presented to them. Manohar scored 108 runs from 8 matches, while Sudarshan scored 145 runs in 5 matches.

Speaking of Gujarat Titans squad for IPL 2023, the defending champions have added some depth to their otherwise strong squad with some good signings. Before the IPL 2023 auctions, Titans traded Lockie Ferguson and Rahmanullah Gurbaz to the Kolkata Knight Riders The Titans entered the IPL 2023 mini-auction with a purse of INR 19.25 crore with 10 slots available that included seven Indian and three overseas players.

Following the completion of IPL 2023 auction the Titans had added  New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson for Rs 2 crores, West Indies all-rounder Odean Smith for Rs 50 lakh, KS Bharat for Rs 1.2 crore, Shivam Mavi for Rs 6 crore and uncapped  Urvil Patel at his base price of Rs 20 lakh.  The Ahmedabad-based franchise also added depth to the pace department buying Ireland’s left arm pacer Joshua Little for Rs 4.4 crore and veteran medium-pacer Mohit Sharma for Rs 50 lakh.
