For the unversed, CSK splashed a huge amount to acquire Stokes because he is tipped to be the successor to Dhoni. While there is no official announcement yet from Dhoni, it seems Thala won’t be playing the next season of IPL. Stokes has impressed everyone with his captaincy by leading England fearlessly in Test cricket. While IPL is a different ball game, CSK will be keeping a close tab on the all-rounder.
Stokes missed last year’s IPL due to a finger injury, but this season the southpaw will be eager to make an impact for CSK. Stokes has played 43 IPL games scoring 920 runs and picking 28 wickets.
