According to Daily Mail, Bairstow is set to miss cricket action till early March 2023. To note, the Three Lions are set to take on Bangladesh in a limited-overs series in March next year. However, Bairstow can only make a full recovery later that month, when he hopes to resume ties with Punjab Kings.
Bairstow was the talk of the town in September when he slipped while playing golf and injured his leg including a broken fibula in three places and a dislocated ankle.
Bairstow was in the form of his life in the home Test series against NewZealand, India, and South Africa but the accident brought an unwarranted break to his express performances. He subsequently missed out on the T20 World Cup in Australia. He also missed the ODI series against the Aussies and the ongoing Test series against Pakistan.

Bairstow was retained by PBKS ahead of the mini-auction
PBKS bagged the services of Bairstow for INR 6.75 crore during the last conducted auction. In IPL 2022, Bairstow gave a number of excellent performances for the Kings. Opening the innings alongside Dhawan, Bairstow took full advantage of the field restrictions. He gave several quick starts to PBKS. As a result, the Kings decided to retain Bairstow for the upcoming edition.
