Approximately 20 days remain for the teams to release their players for the IPL. However, things look pretty gloomy for Thakur who is set to be released by Delhi Capitals. Thakur is presently in Australia where is a part of the India squad for the ICC T20 World Cup. Thakur’s release from the DC squad can be factored in with respect to his performance corresponding to the astonishing sum for which he was bought.
Delhi Capitals broke the bank as they sealed the deal for Shardul Thakur earlier this year in February in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Thakur managed to amass just 120 runs in the total 14 games he played for the Delhi outfits. He was decent with his bowling stint where he bagged 15 wickets but was not economically. The Indian all-rounder had an average of 31.5 with an economy rate close to 10.
