“Yes, I’ll play (Test against Ireland). I’ll be making sure that I give myself enough time to get back and play that Ireland game,” Stokes confirmed ahead of England’s 2nd Test against NewZealand.

Chennai Super Kings paid Rs 16.25 Cr to secure Ben Stokes at the IPL 2023 Auction. However, now, they will have to look for players who can do his job in the playoffs. Stokes is an important player who is the frontrunner to succeed MS Dhoni as the CSK captain.
Other English Test players could also leave IPL before the playoffs, following Ben Stokes. Another costly English player who could miss the playoffs is Sam Curran. Although not in the reckoning for Tests, England could call the youngster up for Ireland Test to prepare for the Ashes.
