Along with the cricket players from the Indian Premier League who are free agents, several IPL 2023 retained players participated in the recently-concluded Abu Dhabi T10.
In Abu Dhabi T10 2022, the following four players made a big impression, and they may end up landing lucrative contracts at the IPL Auction in 2023.
Nicholas Pooran
The Deccan Gladiators won the T10 League championship in Abu Dhabi for the second time under the leadership of Nicholas Pooran.
The Deccan Gladiators’ captain was in sublime touch throughout the tournament. While averaging 49.28 with the bat, Pooran scored 345 runs in 10 matches to take the team to the title. In fact, the former West Indies captain was the only player to score more than 300 runs this season.
In the competition, Pooran had a strike rate of 234.69. He took little time to get comfortable in the middle and off 147 deliveries, he hit 31 fours and 25 sixes.
Akeal Hosein
While representing the New York Strikers in the Abu Dhabi T10 2022, left-arm spin bowler Akeal Hosein of the West Indies won the Bowler of the Tournament honor. The spinner, who took 10 wickets in nine games, was crucial to the team’s success in getting to the championship game.

Notably, Akeal Hosein had the best economy rate (6.20) among bowlers with five or more wickets this edition.
His success in the UAE would have caught the interest of the IPL franchises. If Akeal Hosein starts a bidding battle at the IPL Auction 2023, it shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Naveen-ul-Haq
Naveen-ul-Haq, an Afghan fast bowler who played for Team Abu Dhabi in the T10 League, was in excellent form. In the competition, he participated in eight games and took 10 wickets at an economy rate of 7.43.
One of Naveen-ul-best Haq’s weapons is altering the pace. Any IPL team’s fast-bowling assault may benefit greatly from having him on board.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore
Pooran’s teammate Tom Tim David, Eoin Morgan and Azam Khan completed the top five.
Nicholas Pooran’s teammate Tom Kohler-Cadmore won the Batter of the Tournament award at the Abu Dhabi T10 2022. Kohler-Cadmore also played some memorable knocks, while finishing with the second-most runs.
