Fazalhaq Farooqi was bought for his base price of 50 Lakhs by the Sunrisers Hyderabad side on the second day of the IPL 2022 Auction held at Bangalore. The 21-year-old pacer will be a prized asset for the squad after performing exceptionally in the first ODI against Bangladesh.

In the first ODI of the series, Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first. They put up a score of 215-10 in 49.1 overs. Chasing the target, the Bangladeshi side fell victim to Fazalhaq Farooqi who quickly scalped 4 wickets that included key players like Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, and others.
