Coming in to bat at number seven position, the tall batsman smoked six fours and five sixes to fire his team to 290/8 in 50 overs. The innings took the sheen away from the defending champions as they lost two wickets in the powerplay and could never recover from there.
The knock from Shahrukh Khan comes days after Punjab Kings (PBKS) decided against retaining the 26-year-old batsman. Mayank Agarwal and Arshdeep Singh were the only two players to be retained by the franchise which is yet to win the IP trophy.
Shahrukh Khan came to bat in the 38th over for Tamil Nadu and he smashed 66 runs from just 35 balls against Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he is likely to go for big money in the auction.

Coming at a base price of Rs 20 lakh, Shahrukh Khan was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 5.25 crore in the IPL 2021 auction. The youngster recently won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 for Tamil Nadu with a last ball six.
So far he has played a total of 11 matches for the PBKS and scored 153 runs at an average of 21.86. His strike rate in the cash-rich league has been an impressive 134.21.
