IPL 2022: Reliance Jio Stadium in Mumbai added to ‘potential venue list’, IPL 2022 Dates, Schedule to be released next week

IPL 2022 Venue – IPL 2022 Dates & Schedule: The Season 15 of IPL is likely to start on March 27th & will end by the end of May. The BCCI will announce the final dates & schedule for IPL 2022 by the end of this week.

For now, there is consensus in BCCI that to avoid any kind of Covid-19 complication – the league stage this year will be restricted to Maharashtra.

The board with an experience of IPL 2021 by their side will not take any risk this time & will conduct all 70 League matches of IPL 2022 in Maharashtra Corridor.

The BCCI official feels that by organizing the entire league stage in Maharashtra ‘flight travel will be avoided which reduces the risk of Covid-19’.

Reliance Jio Stadium: Where is the stadium & will it host IPL 2022 matches? The Jio Stadium has been shortlisted but not finalized as a IPL Venue. The stadium, developed in the Reliance Corporate Park in Navi Mumbai is fully equipped with modern facilities & can host IPL Games.

The final decision in this regard will only be taken after completion of RECEES of BCCI’s Venue & Operations team.

The board will also wait for the approval of the broadcast team. Once the broadcast team also completes their recee, Reliance Jio Stadium can be given GREEN SIGNAL to host few IPL Games this year.
