Du Plessis’s crisp timing and intent in his eyes signalled a warning of sorts to the other nine IPL franchises. What is more interesting is that despite his clean hitting, the RCB skipper also said that since it was the first day of training he did not want to be hard in the nets.

“Just a bit of stretching and running did not want to be too aggressive on the first day. I just got things going away after the three days of quarantine. Started it by doing throw-downs just to feel the bat on the ball. Just to feel my technique. Then just hit the few balls of pace and spin. But today was just about getting out the room and take some pressure of batting on day one,” the veteran South African batter said.

The South African also was seen discussing a few things with coach Sanjay Bangar and RCB director Mike Hesson
Overall, it seemed that du Plessis had got a hang of the culture at RCB in only his first day at the office.
