A must required break – Ravi Shastri, who earlier urged him to take a break from cricket after IPL, said he should pull out of IPL.

“I think a break is ideal for him because he has played non-stop cricket and he has captained the side across all formats. It will be wise of him to take a break. You know, sometimes you have to draw the balance. This year he is already into the tournament (IPL 2022), tomorrow if push comes to shove and you want to prolong your international career and make a mark there for 6-7 years, pull out of the IPL, for all you care,” Ravi Shastri said on Jatin Shapru’s YouTube show.

According to Shastri, every player needs a break if they are playing for a long time.

“If that is the case, you have played for 14-15 years. Not only Virat, I’ll tell that to any other player. If you want to play and do well for India, you have to draw the line where you want to take that break and the ideal break would be off-season where India is not playing and the only time India does not play is the IPL.”

IPL 2022: Ravi Shastri’s BIG ADVICE to out of form Virat Kohli after IPL disaster, ‘Pull out of IPL for all you care, take a break’

Shastri’s advice to Kohli – Ravi Shastri advised Virat to open the innings so that he can take advantage of the new ball and something he did in the 2016 IPL. Virat did open the innings against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in his last match, but there was no change in luck for him as he was dismissed for just nine runs by Prasidh Krishna. Virat’s RCB failed to chase down the total in the match and ultimately lost the match by 29 runs.

Virat Kohli in IPL 2022:

  • 41* vs PBKS
  • 12 vs KKR
  • 5 vs RR
  • 48 vs MI
  • 1 vs CSK
  • 12 vs DC
  • 0 vs LSG
  • 0 vs SRH
  • 9 vs RR

Virat’s dismal IPL 2022 – The former RCB captain has endured tough time in the IPL 2022 campaign despite no captaincy burden. In the entire IPL 2022 Virat has scored 128 runs in nine innings and averages little over 14 for the season. With form a concern, Ravi Shastri’s advice to take a break could help Virat rejuvenate his career as RCB still remain in the hunt for a top four place in the IPL.
