- Kuldeep has been out of favour over the last couple of years and managed to play just 9 and 5 matches in the last two editions of the IPL.
- Overall, he has played 45 IPL matches and taken 40 wickets at an economy rate of 8.27.
- The left-arm pacer was last bought for a hefty Rs 5.8 crore but the price cap is likely to drop owing to his absence from cricket for a few months.
- He will be looking forward to getting a good IPL contract. His experience of playing 65 ODIs and 23 T20Is might help him fetch a good IPL 2022 salary.
- IPL 2022 new teams Ahmedabad & Lucknow are likely to be in the fray to buy the experienced spinner but other franchises can also bid for him.
Kuldeep Yadav had joined the injury rehab at NCA a few weeks ago and since then has updated his fans with regular pictures and videos. In a previous video, he was seen working on his batting skills.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav’s Road to make an international comeback is out of the question unless he performs in the domestic circuit or IPL 2022.
His childhood coach Kapil Dev Pandey feels Kuldeep was not in the good books of captain and coach. “Ashwin and Jadeja are really good but even when Kuldeep was performing well, he didn’t get a chance. He was sidelined because of some liking/disliking issues with the captain and coach at that time, I guess. Even before the injury, he was dropped from the national side,” Pandey told IANS
“Some say that his form was an issue but tell me, how many opportunities did he get? He was taking wickets. You can’t expect six wickets in six balls. It seems he was actually not in the good books of coach and captain, and that was the only reason he missed it,” he added.
