With these five deals, Dhoni has taken his number of brand endorsements from 128 to 133 in no time. The 40-year-old wicketkeeper-batter currently had a brand valuation of $61.2 million, ranking fifth in the Duff & Phelps Celebrity Brand Valuation Report 2021.
Dhoni’s brand spectrum is vast, ranging from Sunfeast Yippee! and Boost to modern era brands like GoDaddy and Khata Book. What makes the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup-winning captain’s popularity more special is the fact that he is known for often refusing brands that do not resonate with his personality.
According to Financial Express, Dhoni currently charges between INR 3.5 crores to 6 crores per year for an endorsement, significantly lesser than Virat Kohli who charges around INR 7-8 crores. The CSK legend also appeared in 54 brand advertisements on television in the calendar year 2021, making him the most visible sports personality on TV.
