IPL 2022: Lendl Simmons, Tamim Iqbal gear up for mega auction- A number of players in the Bangaldesh Premier League (BPL) are seeking to play in cash-rich IPL 2022. On Friday, Lendl Simmons & Tamim Iqbal took the opportunity to score quickfire centuries in the tournament. Lendl Simmons smashed 65-ball 116 for Sylhet Sunrisers at a strike rate of which comprised 14 boundaries and 5 sixes. Simmons has played 29 IPL matches where he scored 1079 runs at an average of 39.96. He has scored a century and 11 fifties in the tournament. Overall, he has played 287 T20s with 7673 runs which include 59 half-centuries & a couple of tons.
Tamim Iqbal has never played in IPL. He will be seeking a maiden opportunity in the richest T20 league. He comes with an experience of 234 T20s with 6695 runs comprising 4 centuries and 42 fifties.
Both Simmons & Tamim are openers and will be in the fray to open for one of the two franchises. With the addition of Lucknow Super Giants & Ahmedabad, the duo are likely to be picked in IPL 2022 mega auction.
As many as 41 players from West Indies and nine from Bangladesh will take part in IPL 2022 mega auction.
