This decision comes as a surprise since the batter was in scintillating form for his team Islamabad United. He is currently Islamabad’s leading run-scorer, having scored 255 runs in seven matches at an average of 42.50 and an excellent strike rate of over 150.

In a statement, the Islamabad United management stated “We wish him very best of luck for his future.” Though the exact reason of Hales’ departure is unknown, Geo News reported that the Englishman was struggling with bio-bubble fatigue.
Ben Duckett also departs for personal reasons
As it turns out, Hales is the latest addition to a long list of players and staff who have left the Pakistan Super League abruptly. Previously, Multan Sultans’ head coach Andy Flower has left to join the Lucknow Super Giants camp for the IPL 2022 auction, whilst Hales’ Nottinghamshire teammate Ben Duckett has also decided to cut short his stay in Pakistan.

Duckett was playing for Quetta Gladiators, for whom he has scored 60 runs in four matches. He too has cited personal reasons for his departure, while the Gladiators management has already roped in a replacement in the form of Will Jacks.
