IPL 2022: 5 stars from previous edition likely to miss out on mega deals- The much-awaited IPL 2022 mega auction will take place on February 12-13. A number of overseas & Indian players will be on the radar of multiple IPL franchises including Lucknow & Ahmedabad. While some players are likely to break the bank at auction, some players will have to settle for less amount as compared to the previous edition. Follow IPL 2022 live updates on InsideSport.IN

At InsideSport, we take a look at five players who will settle for a less amount at a mega auction than their previous salaries.  They are Jhye Richardson, Kyle Jamieson, Riley Meredith, K Gowtham & Shivam Dube.

NOTE: Even MS Dhoni took a pay cut of Rs 3 crore to become the second retained player at CSK. He was retained at Rs 12 crore while R Jadeja was in the highest slab of Rs 16 crore.

Jhye Richardson

Australia pace spearhead had emerged as the highest wicket-taker of BBL last season. However, he played just a lone Ashes fixture where he took a fifer but ended up getting injured. He is unlikely to get a heft amount like Rs 14 crore that he bagged from Punjab Kings in the previous edition of IPL. He played just 3 matches and got 3 wickets at an economy rate of 10.63 in the 1st leg of IPL 2021.

Riley Meredith

Riley Meredith was a big letdown like Jhye Richardson in the last IPL edition. He managed to scalp just 4 wickets in 5 outings with a sluggish economy rate of 9.94. He was purchased for a hefty Rs 8 crore.

Kyle Jamieson

RCB pacer Kyle Jamieson failed to justify his price tag of Rs 15 crore in IPL 2021. He took 9 wickets in 9 matches at an economy rate of 9.6. RCB decided against retaining him in the core group. The Kiwi pacer might have missed out on RCB retention but could still fetch a decent amount at IPL 2022 mega auction.

Shivam Dube

Rajasthan Royals purchased allrounder Shivam Dube for Rs 4.4 crore. He scored 230 runs in 9 matches at an average of 28.75 but managed just a single fifty. He is unlikely to get a big deal at the mega auction but still will be bought with the addition of the Lucknow Super Giants & Ahmedabad franchises at the auction table.

K Gowtham

K Gowtham took IPL 2021 by storm with an expensive price tag of Rs 9.25 crore. He got all the money for sitting on the bench as CSK didn’t use him in any matches. He has taken 13 wickets in 24 matches at a decent economy rate of 8.26. He is unlikely to fetch a staggering amount this time around.
