IPL 2022: 5 players who could get 5 times their base price – With the players have registered for the upcoming IPL 2022 Mega Auction, some players will have a greater demand in comparison to others. These players will be sought by different teams and thus there is a high chance of a bidding war taking place for them. The IPL 2022 Mega Auction is scheduled to take place on 12th and 13th February in Bangalore while the main competition is scheduled to begin from the end of March as confirmed by Jay Shah. A total of 1214 players registered for the auction with 896 being Indians and 318 being overseas players.

David Warner: It is no surprise that the Australian batter will have a bidding war for him. Warner has consistently performed in the IPL over the years. From 2014 till 2020 he has scored over 500 runs in every consecutive season of the IPL. Last season he scored 195 in 8 innings with an average of 24.37. Given his consistency and current form, he could easily cross the 10 Cr mark after having set the base price of 2 Cr for himself.

David Warner will be a hot pick in IPL 2022

Pat Cummins: The 28-year-old Australian bowler will be a hot pick for any of the 10 teams. In IPL 2021 Cummins played 7 matches where he scalped 9 wickets with an average of 26.33. Even as a bowler he was quite handy with the bat after scoring 93 runs with a good average of 31.00. Considering his talent and his current form, Cummins will go big in the auction. He has set his base price at 2 Cr but can easily cross the 10 Cr mark.

Kagiso Rabada: The young South African pacer has consistently performed over the years in the IPL. He picked 25, 30, and 15 wickets in 2019, 2020, and 2021 editions of the IPL respectively. The potential purple cap winner has set his base price of 2 Cr but is likely to cross 10 Cr in the IPL Mega Auction when teams make a bidding war to acquire this ferocious bowler.

Quinton de Kock: The 29-year-old wicketkeeping batter is one of the most talented players to take part in the competition. He scored 297 runs in 11 innings in IPL 2021 with an average of 29.70. De Kock has been consistently performing both in the limited-overs and test matches, thereby ensuring his incredible form. De Kock has set his base price at 2 Cr which can easily cross 10 Cr when teams decide to fight against each other to pick this star player. 

 

Wanindu Hasaranga: The 24-year-old Sri Lankan all-rounder is an exceptional upcoming talent. Playing for his nation he has already scored 546 runs in 29 games with 29 wickets in the ODIs. In 33 matches playing T20I, he has scored 319 runs with 52 wickets. This talented player will be sought by many teams, and with his base price of 1 Cr, he can easily cross 5 Cr with teams eager to buy this explosive middle-order batter.
