Gujarat Titans finished at the top of the points table in their debut season, winning 10 of their 14 games to become the first team to qualify for the knock outs this season. The newcomers, led by first time captain Hardik Pandya, thrilled one and all with their fearless cricket, sealing many last over finishes with regular ease. Pandya himself rediscovered his mojo and fitness, while their team clicked as a whole with David Miller, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Shami, Yash Dayal and Rashid Khan all delivering in moments that mattered.
Rajasthan meanwhile boast of the two players at the top of their game, with Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal comfortably leading the Orange and Purple Cap charts. The duo have lifted the team on their shoulders with the likes of captain Sanju Samson, Shimron Hetmyer, Trent Boult, Ravi Ashwin all chipping in to help them finish second on the table. The 2008 champions faltered in their first attempt to reach the final, but following their stunning win in Qualifier 2, they will pack a punch when they take the field for the IPL 2022 final.
