“I had an offer to play the role of Imran Hashmi in Gangster. I think I should have done the film,” Shoaib Akhtar said as quoted by Geo TV.
Gangster: A love story was directed by Anurag Basu and produced by the Bhatt family. Besides Emraan Hashmi, the film had featured Shiney Ahuja, Kangana Ranaut and Gulshan Grover among big roles. The film was a commercial success.
Interestingly, Shoaib Akhtar had last played for Pakistan in 2011 but the movie hit the theatres in 2006.

“I have bowled faster than 161.3 km per hour, and I have bowled faster than 163 km per hour in my career,” he said.
He ended up with 400+ wickets in his international career for Pakistan. The stalwart had also played in the inaugural edition of IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Unfortunately, both Pakistan players and actors are currently banned in IPL & Bollywood (after Pulwama Attack 2019).
