Legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne departed for heavenly abode on March 4, after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest whilst being on a vacation at Thailand’s Koh Samui. A state memorial service has been organized for one of the most prominent servants of the game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, but because of his IPL commitments, Watson will not be able to attend the event.

Shane Warner State Funeral – However, he has said that his friend-cum-mentor Warne would have preferred him to do the same, as he wanted people to do what they love. “I know Warney would have wanted us to do what we love and get out there make the most of the days we have on this planet,” Watson told DC TV.
“It has probably been the saddest couple of weeks in my life. Two of my greatest mentors and great friends, Rod Marsh and Shane Warne passed away just about on the same day. It has been a really tough sort of time to get my head around. I was fortunate enough, thanks to Delhi and Ricky (Ponting) for giving me a chance to go to Rod Marsh’s funeral,” he further added.
