IPL 2022: Brad Hogg picks X-Factor for CSK – Defending Champions Chennai Super Kings will be super excited to defend their title in this years’ 15th edition of IPL 2022. With most of the teams rebuying their former players, the Chennai Super Kings too rebought their former players after having decided to heavily invest in experienced players along with the unique blend of youth. Former Australian international, Brad Hogg analyzed the CSK team and picked Ambati Rayudu and Robin Uthappa as the X-factors of the Chennai outfits. Follow IPL 2022 Live Updates on InsideSport.IN

“Ambati Rayudu and Robin Uthappa, in the middle order are going to be the X-Factors in the CSK side. They can take the pressure off the lower order,” said Brad Hogg. Heading into the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, CSK bought Robin Uthappa for a price of 2 Crores while Ambati Rayudu was bought for a price of 6.75 Crores.

Both the veteran players have loads of experience in playing in IPL and can see off the innings of Chennai Super Kings with their versatile nature and immense experience. Alongside these two players, West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo who was also rebought by CSK in the IPL 2022 Auction for 4.4 Crores will be an added bonus for the squad in terms of finishing in the lower order.

“I’m also gonna go with Conway opening the batting; I think he can play a huge role and bat through the innings and do a du Plessis job. CSK did really well at the auction, and they’ve got a very very good balanced team. They pick a lot of younger players and hope that they come through as Gaikwad did,” Hogg said.

Chennai Super Kings will be headed by skipper MS Dhoni probably for the last time before the former Indian captain announces his retirement from IPL. CSK has built a well-balanced squad as the Chennai team eyes their fifth IPL title.

The Chennai Super Kings will kick start the IPL 2022 season with the opening fixture against the Kolkata Knight Riders on 26th March 2022. IPL 2022 will be held in Maharastra where 55 games will be played in Mumbai while the remaining 15 games will be held in Pune.
