IPL 2022 – Harshal Patel RCB: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has suffered a big setback as their most consistent bowler Harshal Patel has had to leave the BIO-BUBBLE due to a death in his family. “Unfortunately, Harshal had to leave the bio-bubble due to a death in his family. It was his sister. He did not take the team bus back to Mumbai from Pune,” said an IPL source to PTI.

 

It is also being reported that Harshal will be back before RCB’s next game vs CSK on April 12th. “He will be rejoining the bubble before the next game against CSK on April 12,” the source further said.

However, even if he arrives before 12th April, Harshal is unlikely to feature in the match against Ravindra Jadeja’s team since IPL governing committee has a rule in place that says every player joining a bio-bubble will have to go through a mandatory quarantine period of three days.

As for Harshal Patel’s performance graph, the 2021 Purple Cap winner is having another good season with the ball. He has picked up 6 wickets in 4 matches – and has also scalped at least one wicket in every match. Hence, even if it is for one match, his omission from the playing XI could prove to be very costly for Faf du Plessis’ team.
