4 players from champions GT –

  • Sachin’s Best XI featured not less than four players in the form of captain Hardik Pandya, David Miller, Rashid Khan and Mohammed Shami.
  • Hardik was named the ‘Player of the Match’ in the final and rejuvenated his playing career in the IPL 2022 season.
  • On the horizon, David Miller enhanced his reputation as one of the deadliest finishers in the game.
  • The bowling duo of Rashid Khan and David Miller also were part of the contingent as they too contributed in GT’s triumph on Sunday.

Orange Cap and Purple winners make it to the Best XI –

  • Sachin’s list contained the Orange Cap and Purple Cap winners Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal who both won the individual prizes for most runs and most wickets.
  • Jos Buttler ended with 863 runs in 17 matches and was adjudged as the ‘Player of the Tournament’.
  • Chahal on the flip side had stern challenge for Purple Cap as he grabbed it in the final with 27 wickets in 17 matches.

No place for Virat, Rohit –

  • Interestingly, Sachin’s XI didn’t feature the star names of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
  • Both had a horrible IPL 2022, while Virat scored two fifties, Rohit’s form was even dismal as he didn’t score a single fifty in the IPL 2022.
  • Virat ended with 341 runs with an average of 22.73 in the 16 matches and is still searching for that first IPL title.
  • Rohit and MI ended finished rock-bottom in the IPL 2022 as he scored 268 runs in 14 matches, as both were miles away from the best XI.

Dinesh Karthik in the best amongst the rest –

  • While young guns were dominating the stage, veteran Dinesh Karthik forged a reputation of his own with pitch-hitters role.
  • Dinesh was just not rewarded with a place in Sachin’s XI, but has been recalled in the Indian squad for the South Africa home series.
  • The rest of the players to make the XI included Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Liam Livingstone, and Jasprit Bumrah.
  • Despite a poor campaign for MI in the IPL 2022, Jasprit Bumrah was the only player to make the cut.
