IPL 2022 Auction: Jason Holder or Odean Smith, who will be sold for 4-5 Cr – With just 2 days ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, former Indian player Akash Chopra voiced out his opinion about which West Indies player can easily fetch a salary cap of 4-5 Cr as the player goes under the hammer. Currently, a regular starter for the West Indies team in ongoing India vs West Indies ODI series Odean Smith has played reasonably well in the 2nd ODI after failing to take his place in the playing XI. Smith scored 24 runs and scalped 2 important wickets and was one of the star performers of his side. West Indies lost both the 2 ODI matches and lost the series 2-0. India will take on West Indies in the third and final ODI on 11th February.

Smith easily dispatched Rishabh Pant as well former Indian skipper Virat Kohli to restrict India to make a low total of 237 runs. Pant opened the Indian innings with skipper Rohit Sharma and was sent to the pavilion after scoring 18 runs the experimental move to push Pant in the opening spot failed. Smith’s next victim was Virat Kohli who was dismissed after playing a loose shot and ended up edging the ball back to the keeper. 


“Odean Smith – I feel he has become a half-a-million-dollar player. He has already become a 4-5 crore player because all teams will run after him,” Aakash Chopra said in his YouTube video.

“Overall, the skillset with which he is coming, in the IPL mega auction, he will get a lot of horns blown. He bowls, Rishabh Pant and Kohli dismissed in one over and he would have got Rahul as well, and then came to play the big shots,” Chopra added.

The star all-rounder scored 24 runs as his team failed to chase the target of 238 and was bundled for 193 runs. The 25-year-old all-rounder will go under the hammer in the IPL 2022 Auction for a base price of 1 Cr and will be a target for many teams who will be looking to bolster their middle-order lineup.
