In the fixture, KRK were looking strong but Tahir changed the context of the game in the slog overs to leave KRK at 124/5 in the allotted 20 overs. Multan chased down the total with 10 balls to spare.
“It was nice to see it grip and turn. People need to realise I’m getting old also (laughs). Try talking to all spinners in the group. Believe in giving back, so I share the knowledge,” Tahir said post-match who can play a key role in mentoring youngsters.
Imran Tahir has played 59 matches and scalped 82 wickets at 7.76 rpo in the cash-rich league. Overall, he has played 345 T20s with 438 scalps at 6.62 rpo which makes him favourite to be picked with the addition of the Lucknow Super Giants & Ahmedabad franchise.
He was the purple cap holder in 2019 with 26 wickets to his kitty but managed just 4 games in the last two seasons for CSK played mostly in the UAE.
It remains to be seen if CSK will bid for Imran Tahir at the IPL 2022 mega auction who can also join as spin bowling coach.
Imran Tahir was last picked for Rs 1 crore but he is unlikely to fetch more than his base price in IPL auctions.
